2017 National Championship: A Showcase of Minifootball Excellence

In the year 2017, SAMA organized a thrilling biannual tournament at the prestigious Glen High School. A staggering 62 teams from across the country participated, showcasing their passion and skill for minifootball. 


Ultimately, it was the team from Mamelodi that emerged victorious, earning the honor of representing South Africa in the inaugural Africa Cup of Nations. Their outstanding performance secured them an all-expenses-paid trip to Libya, where they competed against the finest minifootball teams on the continent.

2018 Africa Minifootball Cup of Nations: A Journey to Prominence

Continuing our legacy of excellence, South Africa Minifootball Association participated in the Africa Minifootball Cup of Nations held in Libya in 2018. 


Eight formidable teams represented our nation on the international stage, showcasing their skills and determination. Despite fierce competition, SAMA demonstrated its prowess by finishing in a commendable 5th place, securing qualification for the highly anticipated 2019 World Cup in Australia.

Africa Club Champions League 2019: Triumph on Home Soil

As advocates for club-level minifootball, SAMA hosted a National Championship at the renowned Bosman Stadium to determine the country's club champion. In this thrilling competition, Pretoria All Stars emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional talent and teamwork.


Their triumph earned them an all-expenses-paid trip to Tunisia, where they represented South Africa in the Africa Club Champions League 2019. It was a proud moment for SAMA and the entire minifootball community.

2023: A Glorious Return to the International Stage

In the face of challenging times due to a global health crisis, minifootball made a remarkable comeback on the international stage. South Africa Minifootball Association received a special invitation to Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, for a celebration honoring their esteemed leader, Heydar Aliev. 


Ten exceptional teams, including Italy, France, and South Africa, took part in this prestigious competition. SAMA proudly traveled to Azerbaijan with a full team, fearlessly taking on the giants of world minifootball in Europe.
